The Beauty That Surrounds Us
St. Peter the Fisherman is nestled in a hammock of Live Oaks and Sable Palms at the edge of the Indian River-Mosquito Lagoon Estuary. We are surrounded by vistas of the marsh. Worshippers are occasionally distracted by views of raccoons, possums and wading birds visible through the clear glass that lets nature in. Other animals that have been seen on church property include Eagles, hawks, owls, large pileated woodpeckers, rabbits, non-poisonous snakes and bobcats. We consider our natural surroundings one of our precious assets. We preserve every tree possible, and landscape with native and semi-native plantings.
