The Reverend James Spencer
Jim has served the St. Peter’s community since 2003 bringing a variety of experience and education to the parish. A MATS degree in Pastoral Counseling from Gordon Conwell in 1978 and a MDIV from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1980 have provided the building blocks for a career where preaching and pastoral counseling are cornerstones.
After also serving at St. Simon’s on the Sound Episcopal Church, Fort Walton Beach Florida (1998-2003) and All Saints Episcopal Church, Winter Park Florida (1982-1998), Jim is glad to be in New Smyrna on a permanent basis. Purchasing his first home here in 1985, Jim and his wife Sally now live near the church with a house full of animals. Talk about coming full circle, it just took 25 years! Fr. Jim can be contacted at (386) 428-7383 or FrJim@stpetersnet.net.
Barb began serving the community of St. Peter's in November of 2010 as a Deacon-in-Training. Since that time, Barb has received her completion certificate from the Institute of Christian Studies of the Central Florida Diocese, an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting Technology from Daytona State College and had been ordained as a Vocational Deacon of The Episcopal Church.

She was officially received as St. Peter's Deacon at a Celebration of New Ministry in December, 2011 and is looking forward to serving the congregation in whatever capacity might be needed.
Since Nobember, 2002, Barb has lived in Port Orange with her husband Bill (or Harold if you want to be formal). She retired from her position of Production and Inventory Control Manager after 27 years in the steel industry prior to moving to Florida and spent 7 years working for a local health insurance organization before deciding to attend college full time. Barb can be contacted at (386) 428-7383 or Barb@stpetersnet.net.
